Spring Corporate Fashion Trends SS1718
Happy Spring! It’s been quite chilly in Melbourne, but at long last spring is upon us!
So, we are eagerly awaiting the warmer weather so we can ditch our opaque stockings, sensible knitwear and embrace spring corporate fashion.
Here are a few of our favourites this season.
Spring Corporate Fashion Trend #1: Bright colours
Miranda Priestly was right of course. So, we’re not suggesting florals! But, spring is a chance to wear brighter colours – especially in Melbourne where we really do wear a lot of black. Stand out from the crowd with a bolder palette this spring.
In its new spring collection, Witchery is embracing what they call ‘luminous yellow’ but we like to call buttercup. We love this balloon sleeve top.
For more inspiration in bolder colours for your officewear, check out CorporateCatwalker. She knows how to rock a bold skirt. Because she teams them with monochrome tops and neutral heels, she makes the colour really pop.
Spring Corporate Fashion Trend #2: Fuller skirts
Full skirts are ultra-feminine and surprisingly great for the office. They nip in at the waist and skim the hips, so what’s not to love? So, they’re great for all shapes and sizes. Style them simply with a plain long or short sleeve tee, tassel necklace and strappy heels and you’re on a winner. We like this white with paper bag waist from Asos.
Seen everywhere on the streets of Melbourne this spring will be the on-trend variant on the full skirt, the accordion skirt. Embrace your inner Marilyn with these great skirts (Asos also has a few varieties of these as well) But beware – they are strictly dry clean only!
Spring Corporate Fashion Trend #3: cape blazer
We spotted Little Miss Corporate with one on her Instagram recently and we’re now obsessed. These cape-jacket hybrids are right on trend for spring. These cape-jacket hybrids are right on trend for spring.
We found a very very similar version on Saks Fifth Avenue – that ships to Australia! You’re welcome.
Spring Corporate Fashion Trend #4: Culottes
If they work on Nina Proudman, we’re into it! During the latest season of Offspring it did not escape our attention that Nina was often found in these wide-legged, short-hemmed trousers.
We’ll certainly be giving this look a try this spring. We like this versatile black pair from Country Road:
(this is Melbourne after all, we had to get something black on this list…)
Happy shopping!
