My Spring Corporate Fashion Picks: Aussie Designer Faves
Spring has sprung in Melbourne and it is so lovely!
It’s always a good excuse to invest in a lovely new wardrobe with the change of season. And while I’m always loyal to the classic chains like Country Road, Witchery, Cue and Review for my spring corporate fashion, sometimes I itch to splurge on a designer piece.
There are many lush Australian designers these days, I could easily drop a grand or two on a few stunning pieces from each of them. Whenever I cringe about how much I’ve spent on clothes I remind myself that I’m supporting local designers and the Australian economy by shopping local.
Here’s my favourite workwear selections for this spring/summer collections from some of my favourite Aussie designers.
Bianca Spender
How divine is this bold stripe print on this blouse? When I’m presenting in a boardroom to a sea of male faces, I like to wear bold colours and this would be just perfect. The simplicity of the black pant allow the top to be the hero piece of the outfit.
Stone Stripe Greta Top $435.00
Black Crepe Bootleg Long Pant $445.00
Camilla and Marc
I confess: I saw the C&M t-shirts everywhere a few years back and I had no idea of the label. Because I didn’t enjoy my sartorial ignorance, I made it my business to find out and discovered this uber-cool Aussie brand.
I’m fangirling over this blazer ;it’s oh-so-80s with its double breasted cut. And the caramel colour (officially it’s tobacco) is perfection.
Catriona Blazer in Tobacco, $850.00
I’m also quite keen on this dress from Camilla and Marc too. Decisions, decisions.
Ackley Midi Dress $750.00
Carla Zampatti
Oh, this woman knows her blush pinks. Her latest season is chock full of the sweetest hues I’ve seen in forever. I wish someone will invite me to a ball so I can wear this beautiful gown. But today we are talking spring corporate fashion, so my top pick is this lovely suit combo.
Regency crop jacket, $869.00
Gigi skirt, $499.00
Rachel Gilbert
Where have you been all my corporate life Rachel? Even though I’m happily married for fourteen years I enjoyed checking out her bridal collection. Though she’s not strictly a workwear designer, she has several pieces that would be perfect for the office. This sweet yellow dress is one of my favourites; ideal for wearing to lunch with clients.
Ollie dress in canary, $1100.00
Scanlan & Theodore
Every piece I’ve bought from Scanlan & Theodore has lasted forever, or until I accidentally put a dry clean only piece through the washing machine. I find the cut on every piece fits me well; they know a woman’s shape intimately. When you wear something for years, the price per wear is so low, it’s practically free. (Or, that’s what I tell myself.) This jacket would look sharp with a slimleg black pant.
Crepe knit tweed wrap jacket $600.00
Hope my selections inspire you to update your corporate wardrobe this spring!
Happy shopping,
Dianna xo
